Question of the Week! #2

This weeks question is: who was the better hulk, Edward Norton or Mark Ruffalo? Edward Norton was Bruce Banner in the Incredible Hulk, while Mark Ruffalo was Bruce Banner in the Avengers and soon to be Avengers 2. So, who was the best? Also did anyone notice that the Hulk in the movie had a face like whichever actor was playing Bruce Banner?

Coolest Name Ever!

Seriously Awesome!

Marvel vs. DC #2: Hulk vs. Superman

Finally! This will basically tell whether DC would beat Marvel or visa versa! These are possibly the two strongest heroes in comics. One only gets stronger if you make him angry, and one has so many powers, you can't count them! Who would win! The current score is DC: 1, Marvel: 0, but can Marvel bring it to a tie? Lets find out tomorrow!

Superior Spider-Man Review

In The Amazing Spider-Man 700, Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus switched bodies. Then, Doc Ock in Spider-Man's body killed Spider-Man in Doc Ock's body. After that bit of confusion, Doc Ock became the Superior Spider-Man with the help of his new concience- Peter Parker. I would really recommend reading the new series and The Amazing Spider-Man 700, even though it might give you a headache! Also, the comic series is downloadable with the AR app. I'll be sure to review this app later!

Why Aquaman is Awesome

You may all think that Aquaman is wimpy, but really he's one of the Justice League's biggest assets! He's king of the oceans, which cover about 2/3 of the Earth's surface. He also has an almost unbreakable trident that can cut through pretty much everything. He also has super-strength and can communicate with all the creatures, and monsters, in the sea. Think about that next time your about to diss Aquaman. Also, he has a hot wife named Mera who can control water with her mind! Can your girlfriend do that? You might not even have a girlfriend!
See, he's awesome!

Chakra the Invincible Review

Chakra the Invincible is a new comic by Stan Lee about a kid named Raju Rai who lives in Mumbai and made a technological suit that activates the mystical Chakras of the body and grants him awesome powers. This is just one of the comics that come out on Free Comic Book Day!

Fatman on Batman Podcast Review

My dad introduced me to this cool Podcast where directer Kevin Smith (a.k.a. Fatman) takes about Batman for about an hour straight! He even has a bunch of awesome guest stars like Stan Lee and Grant Morrison who's one of the best Batman writers ever! I would strongly advise to ask your parents before downloading the Podcast because he tends to use strong language.

Comic Vine Website Review

Comic Vine is an awesome website that has videos, podcasts, and sells comics! It's also a great site for comic rekated research! You can visit their site at www.comicvine.com!

This is the Comic Vine logo!

Mythology in Comics

Have you ever noticed that DC and Marvel both incorporate one type of mythology into their comics? I mean, Marvel has Thor who's a Norse god, and DC has Wonder Woman and the Amazons who are part of Greek mythology. They even have all the gods that are part of that mythology as characters! Odin, Loki, Zues, Ares! I know Marvel has Hercules who is Greek, but they don't have any Greek gods. Do you think they can copywrite a civilization's mythology?
I think there was even a Princess Diana in Greek mythology!

Marvel vs. DC #1: Iron Man vs. Batman Results

I asked 25 people who would win and almost 2/3 of them voted for Batman! Here were the results:
-Batman: 16 votes
-Iron Man: 9 votes
Some of the ways Batman would win are hacking Iron Man's armor with his Bat-Computer, or throwing an exploding Batarang into the ARC reactor in Tony Starks chest!

Red Hood Reference

Red Hood is Jason Todd, the second Robin, who came back to life. Many people have heard about him, but don't really know much about him. To learn more, read Red Hood and the Outlaws vol. 1: REDemption, or watch the movie Under the Red Hood that's available on Netflix. I'll be reviewing the movie later. The second Red Hood and the Outlaws graphic novel will be released August 13.

Marvel vs. DC #1: Iron Man vs. Batman

Hey guys, this is a new thing for News On Comix: Marvel vs. DC. Here we will take heroes or villains with similar powers and see who would win. The results will be posted the next day. Our first matchup is Iron Man vs. Batman. Both are billionaire's with big toys and are part of a super team. One has a suit. One has a car named after him. Who will win? Answers tomorrow.

Goodbye Bruce Timm!

No! Bruce Timm is stepping down from his position as the best animator in DC! Bruce Timm was the master mind behind Batman the Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited. He will be replaced by James Tucker who has plenty of DC animation experience since he directed and/or produced Batman Beyond, Justice League, Batman Brave and the Bold, Static Shock, and many more. But he's still no Bruce Timm!

Injustice: Gods Among Us

This game is the BOMB! I won't give away much about the story line because there is a comic series for that, but I can tell you that it's awesome to be able to see which heroes and villains, who wouldn't meet often in reality, would win in a fight.
By the way, my favorite character is Deasthstroke. Did you know he has two different costumes?

Question of the Week! #1

Remember a few years ago before the New 52 when Cyborg was part of the Teen Titans? It was a time when the Martian Manhunter, Hawkman, and Hawkwoman were part of the Justice League. Now Cyborg has leveled up and is part of the Justice League. My question for you is: Do you think Cyborg was better in the Teen Titans or in the Justice League? I would suggest some research.

DC Nation vs. Marvel Universe: Battle of the TV Shows!

If your under 15 years of age then you probably know that Marvel Universe shows are on Disney XD, and DC Nation shows are on Cartoon Network. Then there's the Batman and Superman animated series on the Hub and Arrow on the CW, but I'm not talking about those. The Marvel Universe shows are Ultimate Spiderman and Marvel's The Avengers, and the DC Nation shows are Green Lantern: The Animated Series, used to be Young Justice, and soon to be Teen Titans Go! And you can't forget the DC Nation shorts!

So, who's better? You decide!

Young Justice: Invasion

It kind of stinks that Young Justice: Invasion is over because it was one of my favorite shows. Even if it didn't follow any comic whatsoever, it was still super awesome. Personally I think it should have had more of the Teen Titans characters.

Arrow TV Series Review

The Arrow TV series puts a modern spin on the life and backstory of Green Arrow (a.k.a. Oliver Queen). Along with the TV series, there is also a comic based on the show. The villains on the show are from the Green Arrow comics as well as some others like the Huntress and Deadshot.

Pop! Figures Review

If you've been in a comic book store then you've probably seen these big-headed figures on the shelf. With their big eyes, they're actually kinda cute. They have Pop! figures for Marvel, DC, and several TV shows. I, myself, have most of the Avengers set, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Ghost Rider.
I just need the Hulk!

The Creation of Batman

"When young Bruce Wayne's parents were killed, he vowed to avenge their deaths as Batman. Also known as the Dark Knight, Batman often works from the shadows, and many people believe he is just a legend. Along with his sidekick, Robin, Batman fights tirelessly Gotham City's streets free of crime."

-DC Comics: The Ultimate Character Guide

This is a really good guide for anyone who's starting out in comics, but I hope they make a new one for the New 52.

Wonder Con Anaheim 2013

I wasn't sure whether I should make this post an 'Event' or a 'Review' so I did both. Anyway, I went to Wonder Con on the second day and got some awesome stuff! I got a hand painted poster of all the Robins (even Damien), a Sinestro figure, a Hawkman figure, and the Justice League International graphic novel (more on that later)! I also got my picture taken in front of the ship from the Oblivion movie! Not to mention the costumes!

Also our favorite comic book store The Comic Outpost was there with their Batman and Superman statues!

Heroes of the North: Canadian Super Heroes

Heroes of the North is an award-winning live action web series about Canadian superheroes that has been told through videos, comic books, photo books and more. They currently reported that there most critically acclaimed comic book, Crimson: Dark Origins, has only four copies left! They might not be reprinting so if you want to buy a copy the time is now!

The heroes are (left to right) 8-Ball, Fleur-de-Lys, The Canadian, Nordik, and Black Terror.

Super-Pets

Some people don't read comics for the action or humor- they read it for the super-pets! Krypto, Streaky, Bat-Hound, and even that red lantern cat whose name I always forget (kidding I mean Dex-Starr)! People love animals! Even Joker has a pair of pet hyenas! If any of you have younger siblings or children who read Tiny Titans you know what I mean:
Seriously, what is that yellow cloud with a pink had? And how many pets does the Superman family need? Anyway, tell me your favorite super-pet in the comments below!
This is one creepy cat!

Superhero Design Contest

This is the first superhero design contest I've done on my blog! I did one with my friends once so I thought I'd do one with you guys! I will be judging the heroes on costumes, powers, and names! Here are the rules:
-The hero must be of your own design.
-The hero must be in color.
-You must have fun.
There you go! When you finish your hero, take a picture and email it to me at comicchronicle11@gmail.com! To give you some ideas, here are some my friends drew!
The one on the left is Ammogedon, the one in the middle is Zero-100, and the one on the right is a mixture a bunch of different heroes!

Batman and Son Review

Let me just say that I know Damian Wayne died (which sucks, but he'll come back) but you can honor his memory by learning his backstory. In Batman and Son, you learn about how Damien came to be the next Robin and later what I'm talking about when I say "he'll come back". So stop reading this an d go by that book!!! And let me just say: Thank you Grant Morrison!
See Batman and Robin #8 for Damien's death!

Movies of Summer 2013

I'm going to see Iron Man 3 on Free Comic Book Day which, strangely, is the day after it opens. The movie trailer gives you hints on what going to be in the movie. In the Iron Man 3 trailer you see extra Iron Men, Pepper Potts in the suit, and Norman Osborn in the Iron Patriot suit. Pretty crazy!
Later in the summer we'll all be seeing Man of Steel, which is said to be the stating point of the Justice League movie. This movie will feature general Zod (Yes!) and was based somewhat on the Earth One movie line. More about that later.

Don't forget the Wolverine that's coming out January 26. IMDb wouldn't give me anything useful about  the movie other than that Wolverine goes to Japan. As soon as I get more I'll post it.

Free Comic Book Day
